As a consumer, you are entitled to three free credit reports each year. However, there is still some confusion over how to get them, and how to avoid online sites that charge for those reports.

You can contact the credit bureaus below or www.annualcreditreport.com, the official site, to obtain your free credit report. Other websites may claim to provide a free credit report two five seven three seven or credit score, but be alert to the ploy requiring enrollment in a credit monitoring program. To avoid paying a fee, you should never provide your credit card or debit card information. Remember, the Federal Trade Commission defines free as without obligation. Be alert and read all of the terms and conditions.
